Jess

My Name is Jess

I love cats, cooking, good music, and helping people feel better. I have been a licensed massage therapist since 2006 in the Mid-Hudson Valley. In that time I have cultivated a deep passion for my work as well as for the health and well-being of my local community. As a queer woman in Kingston, I have longed to create a welcoming, supportive space specifically intended for LGBTQIA+, BIPOC and their allies who are looking to take care of their physical, emotional, and mental health needs. I know there are spaces where we have not always felt welcome and I knew it was time to change that. This is why I created The Repair Shop, a safe space for everyone to get that tune up we all need and deserve. Massage is not a luxury and I want to make it more easily accessible. I am here for you, let’s focus on the WE instead of the ME. The office is located at 275 Fair Street, Suite 22B in uptown Kingston. Availability is by appointment only and NOT a walk in practice. I have online booking available here.

Thanks for letting me introduce myself, I look forward to all the future holds.

Deep Tissue

cog

Deep tissue massage is a massage technique that is mainly used to treat musculoskeletal issues, such as strains and sports injuries. It involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues. This helps to break up scar tissue that forms following an injury and reduce tension in muscle and tissue. It may also promote faster healing by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation.

Swedish

heart

Swedish massage is designed to relax the entire body by rubbing the muscles in long, gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. But the benefits of Swedish massage go beyond relaxation. It can help increase the level of oxygen in the blood and improve circulation and flexibility.

Reviews

I found Jess to not only be focused and deliberate, always listens to what I had to say, but more so was able to feel what my muscles were saying! Letting them guide her focus. Most times she was able to tell me more of what I needed that even I knew. I can’t recommend her highly enough. She is the best and a true professional.

Jess is hands down one of the greatest therapists I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. While she follows requests and directions to a “T”, she almost never needs to! She has helped me feel better physically, mentally and emotionally. I couldn’t be more thankful and grateful for her care. She is one of a kind and anyone who has a chance to work with her can see she is an incredible Massage Therapist.

Jess is my all time favorite massage therapist. She works with my requests and it is quite the norm for me to fall asleep while she works her therapeutic skills. I come away fully refreshed and revived. On a personal note I have enjoyed her warmth as a noble person - friendly, caring, positive and a great sense of humor.

Jess is a great massage therapist. Great knowledge with deep tissues and trigger points. She’s a small woman but extremely powerful! She’s also amazing at Swedish massage and gives a killer hand massage if you work with your hands. Make sure you drink lots of water when she is finished, intense therapeutic massage.

I see Jess regularly and can't recommend The Repair Shop highly enough! Jess is intuitive, responsive and does a great job resetting my body's alignments and relieving stress and tension. As a trans person, I have always felt so safe, seen, and comfortable here. Will definitely be coming back and recommending her to all my friends!

LGBTQIA+

The following are a list of resources for and by the LGBTQIA+ community. Some of these resources are LGBTQIA+ owned and all of them I would consider a safe space for all my peers. These are businesses, restaurants and organizations that have and continue to do amazing things for our local Kingston community as well as nationwide. Cheers.
